The International Taijiquan Kungfu Association in collaboration with the Malta Chen Taijiquan Association will be organizing a candidates selection seminar on the 4th of April 2012.  The seminar will last two hours and its purpose will be to create a study group having the potential to develop a high level of skill in Taijiquan. This selection will identify candidates that can become eligible for a three to five year study program and hence become part of the “resident students” within the ITKA School in Mascalucia (Sicily, Italy). Previous experience in Taijiquan or any other Martial Art is not required. The right candidates must possess the right psycho/physical characteristics required to undergo the whole program plus a  positive attitude towards sport activities.  They must also be eligible to live in Italy.

Seminar participation will be free of charge.

Study Program Information:

- The complete course will last five years. During this period students will study the orthodox program of Chen Style Taijiquan. Students will also have the facility to study other subjects such as Qi Gong, self defense, agnostic/sport aspects of combat, Taijiquan for kids and teenagers.

- Resident students will be provided with all the required necessities (study, lodging, food etc.), plus logistic aid for personal studies in Schools/Universities/Specialization Institutes that are not very distant from the ITKA school, or for other certified courses organized within the school such as Tui Na, Shiatzu and acupuncture.

- Lessons will take place every day and will be four hours long. Technical programs will be structured according to the chosen duration of the training program (three to five years).

-  The program will pause for twenty days during summer. Students will have one free weekend per month and permission will be granted to spend time with the family twice a year.

E-mail Print PDF

Malta Chen Taijiquan Association certified instructors Richard Galea Debono and Conrad Laus will be attending a Taijiquan Self Defense (TSD) seminar for Instructors organized by the International Taijiquan Kungfu Association (ITKA). The seminar will be held at the ITKA school in Massanunziata (Italy) between the 16th and 18th of December.

TSD System is a very practical self-defense system.  It's characteristics are based on fundamental principles derived from Taijiquan, hence mental awareness, where movements are connected and sensitive.  This simple system is very effective and realistic, and throughout TSD courses participants study various aspects of striking with different parts of the body, exercises to increase sensitivity, position shifting through various movements, simple but effective throwing techniques, ground fighting, locking and choking techniques.   TSD makes practical use of all fundamental martial principles of Chen Family Taijiquan,  hence attacking aggressors with a strong and decisive mind, making use of the whole body, listening of the opponent's force, following the opponent, letting go and being reactive.
