Taijiquan / Qigong Beginners Course Starting August 2010
The Malta Chen Taijiquan Association is organizing a Taijiquan / Qigong course at the University of Malta. The aim of this course is to provide beginners with a very broad introduction to Qigong and Taijiquan. Each session will last an hour and a half, with the first half dedicated to the practice of a Qigong sequence, while the rest of the session will be dedicated to Taijiquan form practice. At the end of the course participants will have a very clear understanding of fundamentals related to correct body posture, mind relaxation and main health benefits. The duration of the course will be two months, starting Wednesday 4th August. Sessions will be held once a week between 6.30 and 8 pm.

The aim of this course is to give the student a very broad introduction to Qigong and Taijiquan in general through the practice of a Qigong sequence, Taiji Silk Reeling exercises and the first few steps of the Lao Jia Yi Lu Frame (Old Frame First Part). At the end of the course students will have a clear understanding of fundamentals related to correct body posture, mind relaxation, and main health benefits. The duration of the course will be three months, starting Thursday 1st July. Sessions will be held once a week between 6.30 and 8 pm.

Half Day Taijiquan/Qigong Seminar, 19th March 2010
The Malta Chen Taijiquan Association is holding a half day morning seminar on the 19th March 2010 at the Pembroke School Main Hall. This seminar will consist of an intensive program of Qigong, Form and Applications and is open to both members and non-members of the Association. ITKA Seminar, January 2010
The Malta Chen Taijiquan Association will organize the first annual International Taiji Quan Kung Fu Association (ITKA) event in Malta between the 15th and 17th January 2010. ITKA is an international Taijiquan research and study organization. This event will be directed by the founder of this organization, Master Gianfranco Pace. Throughout this intensive three day event Master Pace will demonstrate and teach the Laojia, basics of push hands, basics of Chengiagou Kung Fu, and various Qigong exercises with full explanation of the health benefits derived therefrom. The seminar is open to members of the Malta Chen Taiji Quan Association, and some sessions will be open to the general public. These public sessions are of interest to practitioners of Judo and all martial arts. They are open also to complete beginners who have never practiced Taiji, Qigong or any martial art or combat sport, and who wish to learn the basics of these internal disciplines. Any persons interested in participating are kindly asked to contact the organizers on this site. A limited number of places is available and these will allocated on a first come first served basis.

International Activities
Between the 9th and 10th December 2010, the instructors of the Malta Chen Taijiquan Association, Richard Galea Debono and Conrad Laus, have attended year an intensive two day training seminar in Mascalucia with Master Gianfranco Pace, founder of the International Taijiquan Kung Fu Association. This is the 8th time that such visits have been made during 2009. During these seminars they have received detailed instruction in the proper understanding of the Laojia, as well as preparing the basics of push hands techniques, and the combat applications of the form.
